Nene Leakes is back with her own reality show, “I Dream of Nene: The Wedding” a.k.a the road to her second marriage to ex-husband/fiancé Gregg Leakes. If you’re a fan of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”, then you’ve watched the outspoken blonde bombshell laugh her way straight to the bank after divorcing Gregg and dropping a few unnecessary women out of her life. But now that she and Gregg have rekindled their flame, we’re seeing a different side of Nene, one that is a little more calm, cool and collected unless, of course, it’s time to turn up!

The first episode of her new reality show gave us an inside look at Gregg and Nene’s relationship and some of the problems they were having. While we’ve never really gotten to know Gregg’s true colors, they were sure shown last night! We found out that Gregg had a whole family before meeting Nene including five adult children that never really warmed up to Nene as their “step-mother.” We also learned that Nene wasn’t the only one with a stubborn and sassy mouth, Gregg was quite the outspoken man himself! Could these two fix all of their past issues in time for their big wedding? Find out what happened on the first episode inside.

Does Nene Need A Pre-Nup?

We’re still not so clear why Gregg and Nene’s marriage endedin the first place, but one thing we are clear on is that Nene wasn’t completely healed from whatever issues they had in the past. Although she was confident in the fact that she did love Gregg and that this time would be the last and final time they would marry, she did have her reservations and decided to take precautions just in case things went left, again. She decided to meet with her lawyer to discuss having a pre-nup this time around (just in case Gregg decided to act a fool again).

Nene knew that bringing up the pre-nup wouldn’t be an easy conversation but it was something that had to be done. In Nene’s words, the conversation was “not romantic, it’s not sexy, it’s not ‘look at my big boobs!,” but it’s quite uncomfortable. Either way, Nene knew how Gregg fought in court so getting a pre-nup this time around was probably a smart move on her part. After all, she was “very rich.”

Communication was obviously not one of Gregg’s strong points and it was something that he and Nene were trying to work on. Watch Nene confront Gregg about his communication skills (of lack thereof) below:

Making Amends With Curtis

We also found out on “RHOA” that the man Nene called “dad” her whole life was in fact not her biological father. Once the paternity results were in, Curtis disappeared from Nene and her family’s lives. Nene hadn’t spoken to Curtis in a while but she wanted to invite him to her wedding because even though she wasn’t her actual father, she still considered him her dad. Nene met with her uncle so he could persuade Curtis into coming to Atlanta and attending Nene’s wedding and to Nene’s surprise, Curtis accepted her invitation! Even though she wanted her two sons, Bryson and Brent, to walk her down the aisle this time instead of Curtis, she still wanted her dad there to witness her marrying for the second time!

 Gregg Has Another Family?

Since Nene was able to get on the right path to mending her relationship with her dad, she wanted Gregg to do the same with his children. Nene was upset because she wanted Gregg to be a great father to his adult children the same way he was to Brent and Bryson. Nene also felt like she wasn’t apart of his children’s lives and as their “step-mother” she wanted them to feel welcome in their family.

Nene decided that she would take Gregg to pre-marital counseling whether he liked it or not, so they could try to blend their families together and fix any problems they had before jumping the broom again. Gregg wasn’t too fond on the idea of having a “shrink” tell him how to be a father to his children. He wasn’t receptive to the therapist’s suggestions and even told him that he didn’t have an opinion on his parenting skills and his children since he’s never even met him! It looked like Nene was in for a big disaster with this one, because Gregg seemed just as stubborn as she was! Nene believed that Gregg purposely kept his other family separate from her and her sons and believed that he wasn’t being completely honest with her about the reason why! It’s obvious that even though these two have been together for years, they still didn’t know everything about each other and had a lot to work out before saying “I do,” again.
