BUZZ: Rihanna's Tweets Lead To Arrest; Producer Calls Kanye ‘N-Word

Happy Monday Beauties! In case you missed it, here’s what’s been buzzing with some of your favorite stars lately…

Rihanna’s social media shares from her recent trip to Thailand have shut down a Thai sex show and helped in an arrest.

The AP is reporting that a bar owner in Phuket was cuffed in connection with a “lewd sex show” that authorities learned about through the pop star’s Tweets two weeks ago. Officials say they couldn’t make an arrest until they caught the bar in violation, which happened this past Saturday night.  The bar owner faces charges of “obscenity and operating an entertainment venue without a permit” that could carry a sentence of a month in jail and a fine that’s equivalent to $1,900.

As we previously reported , Rhi Rhi also helped tip off two other arrest during her Thailand vacay when she posted an Instagram pic of herself posing with an endangered animal.

Dang, Rihanna might want to rethink her overshares while she’s in South Africa this week!

Pharrell and Will.i.am Battle in Court

Pharrell may have gotten hitched over the weekend, but he’s not so wrapped up in newlywed bliss that he didn’t have time to respond to a lawsuit that Will.i.am is still trying to win to get the rights to the words  “I Am.”  After Skateboard P launched a YouTube channel called “I Am Other,” the “Black Eyed Peas” front man tried to order a judge to order Pharrell to stop using the phrase.

In legal documents obtained by TMZ Will.i.am argued that YouTubers might get confused over the “I Am” name and who’s behind the web effort, because he and Pharrell have both “achieved great distinction” in the hip hop industry. But Pharrell is basically like have a seat. He reportedly shot back that Will.i.am hasn’t achieved the same distinction at all and as a result there would be “zero confusion about who’s really behind the ‘I Am Other’ channel.” Bloop! Pharrell has counter sued to have his channel’s name protected. We’ll see how this one plays out!

Ashanti Rocks New Hairdo To Celebrate Turning 33

Ashanti debuted an updated look over the weekend while celebrating her 33rd birthday (October 13). The singer posted a series of pics of her new asymmetrical bob on Instagram, including a shot at her party at Lavo Las Vegas (above). The fresh cut was fashioned by  celeb stylist Oscar James who has worked with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Halle Berry, Beyonce, and more.

“Something different s/o to @oscarjameshair for my short hair! & s/o to @robertector for making me do it! Lol ❤,” Ashanti wrote, crediting photographer Robert Ector for convincing her to make the big chop.  What do you think of her new style?

Meanwhile TODAY is R&B crooner Usher’s 35th birthday! And from the looks of his recent ab-filled Men’s Health shoot (you know, the one that made his ex Tameka forget all about her ongoing custody battles against him), the “Climax” singer is also making the 30s look good!

Is Lamar Odom Reconciling With His Father?

The news cycle about Lamar Odom gets more flip-floppy by the day. First he’s a crack head (because they must’ve done away with drug tests in the NBA?), now all the sudden he’s clean. Then he allegedly cut off his father, Joe Odom, for blaming the Kardashians for the alleged crack addiction and today reports say the father-son duo is cool again that they’re having sleepovers.  Which is it?

Lamar and his dad were spotted hanging out in Venice last week and “sources” say that they’ve been “hanging at the beach, eating out together, etc. — and things are going well. Lamar has even been spending nights at his dad’s place.”  Although apparently Lamar hasn’t continued to paying his dad’s rent and if he doesn’t cut a check by the 23rd, Papa Joe could be on the streets.

Tune in tomorrow…Are we the only ones who have a feeling that Lamar’s “drama” is going to keep playing out until the Kardashian’s shows see a ratings boost?

X-Man Producer Calls Kanye West The ‘N-Word’ in Racist Rant

Has John Palermo lost his ever-loving mind? The X-Men Origins: Wolverine producer had Hollywood buzzing after he posted a series of racist and gay bashing comments on Facebook that came for CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, Chinese-American talk show host Julie Chen, and power duo Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

Kim and Yeezy were targets of Palermo’s venom after he found out the couple had recently moved to Bel-Air. “There goes the neighborhood!!!” he wrote according to the Hollywood Reporter. “It looks like a Poor Persian Palace, where’s Kris Jenner when you need her?! #MoneyCantBuyADumbNi–aClass.”

Where is Kanye in ALL CAPS when you need him? Yeezy either hasn’t gotten wind of this (the comments have since been taken down, of course) or is picking his battles after his Jimmy Kimmel showdown, but we’re surprised he let this one slide.

Meanwhile the producer tried to play off his comments by deflecting: “Maybe people [who take offense] will look in the mirror and say, ‘When was the last time I called Les Moonves and asked for an African-American to play opposite me?’” he said.

We can’t.
