2015 is shaping up to be the year of Rihanna. After releasing a number 1 animated film, dropping her first single “B*tch Betta Have My Money” and helping to launch the fledgling Tidal, Rihanna is literally everywhere. The Bajan beauty is closing out the 40th season of Saturday Night Live with guest host Louis C.K on May 16th.

We still don’t have a release date for the album but maybe we’ll find out after this performance? We can only hope.

Now maybe Saturday Night Live can focus on getting more Black Women hosts for next season.

Black Twitter Responds To Grey’s Anatomy

***Spoiler Alert***

After 11 seasons on Grey’s Anatomy, Derek “McDreamy” Shepard is no more. The TV favorite died after Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) pulled the plug on him after he was hit by a car.

Shonda Rhimes released a statement on the character’s demise,

“Derek Shepherd is and will always be an incredibly important characterfor Meredith, for me and for the fans. I absolutely never imagined saying goodbye to our ‘McDreamy.’ Patrick Dempsey’s performance shaped Derek in a way that I know we both hope became a meaningful examplehappy, sad, romantic, painful and always trueof what young women should demand from modern love. His loss will be felt by all. Now, Meredith and the entire Grey’s Anatomy family are about to enter uncharted territory as we head into this new chapter of her life. The possibilities for what may come are endless. As Ellis Grey would say: the carousel never stops turning.”

Black twitter also reacted to his untimely death:

RIP… McDreamy. You’re forever in our hearts.

Eva Marcille Heading Back To Reality TV

BET New York Upfronts

After a 3 year hiatus, Eva Marcille is returning to reality TV.

BET announced the new non-scripted series “About The Business” starring Eva Marcille, Sparkle Holmes, Danielle Crawley, EJ King and Crystal Renay. Now we don’t know who any of those other women are except Crystal, who is known as being Ne-Yo’s current girlfriend but we’re hoping it’s a good show.

The show is described as a docu-series following a tight-knit group of friends in the elite world of urban Hollywood. During the day, they are all about the business and on their grind in the high-stakes worlds of entertainment. And at night, this clique balances career and family while navigating being power players in LA’s African American celebrity circles.”

Hmmm…sounds like episodes of struggling actress and models crying about how hard the business is. Then again, we’re hoping for the best! We’re also hoping to see Eva adorable daughter Marley Rae.

Eva isn’t a stranger to BET or reality TV; she has appeared on the “Real Husbands of Hollywood” for several episodes and she previously starred in the 2012 Oxygen series “Girlfriends Confidential.

We hope this show is of substance and not just the same old cliche of women fighting each other for no real reason at all.
