There are simply some  artists whose songs you don’t cover: Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Prince and Sade, but we are super impressed by Zoë Kravitz. She assisted Twin Shadow’s singer George Lewis Jr. performance of “No Ordinary Love” on Late Night with Seth Myers.

Between risqué photo shoots and new film Mad Max: Fury Road,  Kravitz has been killing the game! She’s been practicing her singing chops with her band Lolawolf .

We’re definitely here for her if she decided to make a career out of singing. And her dad is still fine…

Angie Stone’s Powerful New Video

Angie Stone is working!

While taking a break from the popular TVOne reality show R&B Divas, Angie Stone filmed a new movie and video. The TVOne film For The Love of Ruth is a modernized film based on the biblical story of Ruth. The film stars Loretta Devine, Gary Dourdan and Angie Stone.

The video uses clips from the film to showcase a powerful love story. Guess we’ll have to watch to see if Ruth finds her love. The film airs Saturday May 9th at 8/7 CST on TVOne.

We’re happy to hear new music from Angie Stone and not anymore tabloid gossip.

Prince To Stream Concert On TIDAL

When the news broke that Prince was performing a Rally4Peace concert, we were super excited. The we learned the concert will be streamed live on TIDAL and were less than enthused.

Jay Z released a statement on the live stream news:

“I am honored to join Prince in his mission to inspire through the uniting power of music and be able to offer a platform where this moment can be shared globally.  We invite all to experience the music and contribute in their own way to promote peace, tolerance and understanding. Our prayers go out to Freddie Gray’s family and every family affected by brutality and senseless violence.”

That’s the most we’ve heard Jay Z say anything on this issue.

Prince also recorded a song for Baltimore that he’ll probably debut at the concert. Tickets for the event went on sale on Wednesday and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Baltimore youth charities. Concert goers are also urged to wear gray to the concert.

Ok, Jay Z. You may have got us on this one.
