Comedy Central Stands Up For Trevor Noah

Comedy Central is standing by Trevor Noah as he faces a hail of criticism for old jokes that he made on social media.

Once it was announced that the cute, South African comedian would take over after Jon Stewart left The Daily Show, it didn’t take long for folks on the Internet to mine his Twitter history. The probe turned up some offensive jokes about women, Jews and Black people, leading some to question whether NoahĀ was such a great choice as Stewart’sĀ successor.

In a statement the network made to The Wrap, Comedy Central is dismissing questions about Noah’s talent and sensitivity.

ā€œLike many comedians, Trevor Noah pushes boundaries; he is provocative and spares no one, himself included,” the statement read. ā€œTo judge him or his comedy based on a handful of jokes is unfair. Trevor is a talented comedian with a bright future at Comedy Central.ā€

Welp! There you have it, haters. Comedy Central plans to keep Trevor around.

E! couldn’t get enough of Christina Milian and her family, so they’re bringing them back for another round. According to Entertainment Weekly, Christina Milian Turned Up has been renewed for another season set to debut this fall.

Meanwhile, the network has also expanded the Kardashian franchise with another spin-off! Instead of focusing on the family’s travels to manage different Dash boutiques all over the country, cameras will be trainedĀ on their employees in “Dash Dolls.”

The series will centerĀ on Khloe Kardashian’s BFFĀ bestieĀ Malika Haqq and her twin, Khadija. They’ll be sharing screen time with the rest of the Hollywood Dash store employees as they balance their day jobs with fabulous parties, family and love, all while chasing their own personal dreams.

This is not the first time that E! has airedĀ a show about the girls that work at Dash, but the last time they tried it, the show was set in Miami. Maybe a different location will breathe new life into this idea.
