Karen Handel will officially start work today in Washington, DC. Last week, Republican Karen Handel beat Democrat Jon Ossoff in the 6th congressional runoff race that attracted national attention.

The upcoming healthcare vote is creating lots of concern among Republican senators. They want to see what the congressional budget office is reporting before they vote, however many others want to hold the vote this week before the fourth of July break. In a Facebook posting former President Barack Obama said Republican replacement healthcare plans are being rushed through and if passed they would raise cost, reduce coverage, roll back protections and ruin Medicaid as we know it.

Today is a big day for President Trump and his travel ban policy. The Supreme Court is stepping in to decide if President Trump has the authority to ban immigration from those 6 predominately Muslim countries or is it unconstitutional. So far, lower courts have stopped the travel ban policy from going into effect.
