Despite filing for bankruptcy Toys “R” Us plans to hire extra help for the holidays.  Macy’s will increase the number of temporary workers but overall hiring for Macy’s will fall 4% from last year.  Target will increase holiday hiring by 40%.

Georgia Tech student group issues demands in wake of shooting

A group of Georgia Tech students unveiled a list of demands after this past Saturday fatal shooting of a student by a campus police officer.  The list from the Georgia Tech Progressive Students Alliance includes, immediate training for officers on the use of non-lethal alternatives to guns, the increase in funding for mental health services for students and better services for LGBTQ students.
