We have seen energy and fuel costs go through the roof this past year. Recently, Georgia Power was asked by it’s consumers to accelerate it’s plans on climate change. People are not taking their finances lightly when it comes to heating, A/C, and fuel for their lives. The White House and Department of Energy have taken notice and have unveiled a new program for low-income houses that will meet the needs of new energy saving practices that will have long-term benefits.

President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has expanded the reach of WAP (Weatherization Assistance Program) to help more state and local governments reduce household energy use – saving the consumer (your family) money, reducing emissions, and improving the health

along with safety of homes in communities that are disproportionally impacted by high energy costs.

I was able to speak with the U.S. Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm, about the new program and what it means for people that live in Georgia.
