I’ve always been intrigued by the mobile spa concept. The idea of a team bringing spa services to your home is the true epitome of convenience. There’s no need to worry about commuting or rushing to ensure you make your appointment on time. Family and friends can enjoy the fun in a comfortable environment with flexible options. So, once I looked at my email inbox and saw an invitation from The Party Spa, it felt like the stars were aligning.

Founded by Asher Wilkins, a licensed massage therapist and entrepreneur, The Party Spa is one of the most notable luxury mobile spa teams. Known for servicing everyone from Trina, Mary J. Blige, Spice, and more, the NY-based business has a reputation for providing quality service and an unforgettable experience. Asher’s team, affectionately known as Spa Baes, consists of seven wellness professionals specializing in skincare, massage, and nail care services. Standing by the business ethos of “making wellness popular,” the team strives to leave a lasting impression on their clients.
Although I’ve never had a mobile spa experience, my expectations were high. Since my appointment was a few weeks shy of Valentine’s Day, the team promised to give me and my boyfriend a specialized couples package, and baby, they delivered and then some.
Inside the NoMo Soho Hotel
While I fully expected the team to provide the services at my home, they decided to up the ante by booking a room at NYC’s NoMo Soho Hotel. The hotel, which offers a nostalgic and modern aesthetic—hence the name—provides guests with an eclectic feel and gorgeous city views. As we entered the hotel room, the ecstatic team greeted us with a decked-out space. The suite was transformed into a spa oasis with massage tables, pillows, a love seat, and a smart TV playing instrumental music. After a chat about our services, the team ushered us into the bedroom to change into custom robes and slippers.
The Luxury Couples Package Catered To Our Needs
After getting changed, we headed to the massage area in the suite for a full-body massage. I had the pleasure of being serviced by V. Dot while my boyfriend received a massage from Demi. V. Dot took her time working out areas of tension in my body and provided the right amount of pressure. As for bae, he appreciated Demi for making him feel comfortable and relieving back discomfort.
Once our massages were complete, facials were on the agenda. Since the weather was pretty chilly, we opted for a hydrating facial. Cherie began by setting up a steamer above my head while cleansing and exfoliating my skin. After applying a hydrating sheet mask, she massaged the excess product into my skin and followed with a serum. For the last step, she used a creamy sunscreen lotion to lock in hydration and protect my skin from sun rays.
After my facial, Bae experienced Cherie’s expertise and was impressed with the service. While I can usually persuade him to use a few products, convincing him to get a facial is another story. However, I have a feeling that he won’t budge when I try to give him a facial in the future.
My Final Verdict
It’s easy to believe that a mobile spa session will fall short of the standard spa experience. Without a set location that allows various spas to provide unique aesthetics, it can be hard to channel the same energy in a different space. However, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, I learned quickly that we can do anything in the comfort of our own spaces.
The Party Spa team provided an experience that measured up to a traditional spa visit and surpassed my expectations of putting my wants and needs first. Sometimes, it’s hard for me to get everything I need out of a massage session due to misunderstandings. However, V. Dot and Demi took the time to ask questions about preferences with pressure and what areas call for more attention. Throughout the massage session, the ladies checked in to ensure our comfort. As for the facial session, Cherie followed suit by inquiring about our skincare routines and concerns. Instead of rushing through the process, she took the time to provide our skin with TLC and maintain a tranquil, relaxing environment.
It’s been a few weeks since the appointment, and I’m already reviewing my schedule for another booking. If your mind, body, and soul call for some R&R, it’s time to connect with The Party Spa.
