A man who went viral for ruthlessly destroying the tents of Atlanta’s homeless is now facing criminal charges.

As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, the man in the video has been identified as 42-year-old Danielle “Davinci” Barnett. In the video, Barnett is seen wearing an “enforcement” shirt and camo joggers as he slashes through the tents with a knife.

The incident happened across the street from Ebenezer Baptist Church. The location was a few feet away from where Cornelius Taylor was killed during an encampment clearing in January.

Community activists held a news conference Saturday to call for Barnett’s arrest.

Mawuli Davis, who represents Taylor’s family in a case against the city of Atlanta, spoke at the conference.

“These are Atlanta citizens that deserve protection, that deserve the right to live in peace, that deserve the right to live without being terrorized or humiliated and having their very few personal belongings destroyed,” Davis said.

Atlanta Police confirmed to FOX 5 that they have secured warrants for Barnett’s arrest for property damage. APD also made a point to separate the department from Barnett’s alleged actions.

“Mr. Barnett is known to work as a security officer in the Auburn area and it is important to note that Mr. Barnett is not affiliated with the City of Atlanta or the City of Atlanta Police Department. At this time, it is believed that he is acting alone.”

At press time, it is unknown if Barnett is in custody.
