6 arrested after Wednesday night shooting, police chase in Marietta

Six men have been arrested following a major apartment shooting and subsequent police chase Wednesday night in Marietta.

As reported by Fox 5 Atlanta, the six suspects are currently being held without bond at Cobb County Adult Detention Center. They are:

  • Artavious Corley, 19, of Marietta
  • Charles Elliot, 20, of Canton
  • Arthur Stanley, 18, of Marietta
  • Dorian Santos, 18, of Canton
  • Arshad Head, 23, of Dallas
  • Alexander Gonzalez-Mendoza, 18, of Canton

Marietta Police responded to reports of gunfire at around 10 pm Wednesday at the Lakeside at Town Center apartments on Williams Drive. According to investigators, at least two men were shot. They were treated at a nearby hospital and later released.

Several nearby homes and vehicles were also damaged as a result of the gunfire.

Witnesses saw the suspects flee the scene in a black BMW sedan. Officers spotted the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Instead, the driver sped off, leading police on a chase until the car struck a power pole near the intersection of Polk Street and Mountain View Road.

Police took the six men into custody at the crash site, where they recovered three handguns and a rifle from the vehicle.

All of the suspects now face multiple felony charges, including Felony Aggravated Assault with Intent to Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.
