Bonjour, y’all!
Paige B. here – Online Editor for Radio One Atlanta, Music Aficionado, and Occasional Funko POP! Collector. I am trying something new for 2026, as I share some of my favorite new tracks, videos, and all-around culture items that you may want to check out. What better way to kick off this new segment than by checking out a new song by a Grammy-winning artist that we have not heard from in a while… well, solo, at least.
If the phrase, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” were a person, it would most likely be Bruno Mars. As he is gearing up for his new album, The Romantic (which, by the way, is his first solo album in TEN FREAKIN’ YEARS), he is getting the party started early with the first single, “I Just Might.” His playfully retro ode to a beautiful woman, whom he hopes can move just as good as she looks, follows the same award-winning formula as his previous efforts, specifically 24K Magic and his Silk Sonic collaboration with Anderson .Paak. And, quite frankly, it works.
Now, I may be a little biased when I say this, but I think this song is beautifully simple. Nothing but fun lyrics, in-the-pocket instrumentation, and vibes… which, in my opinion, is what we need right about now.

Another project I’m looking forward to is Ari Lennox’s Vacancy album, which is set to release on January 23. The album’s fourth single, “Twin Flame,” is a vibe, full of the storytelling and lush, seductive vocals that made us fall in love with her in the first place. This is the kind of track you want to listen to while thinking of your crush (that’s if you still have one at your big age…speaking to myself here). Clearly, Ari has a way of getting us in our feelings, and if this song is any indication, then the whole album is sure to leave us super emotional.
Now on to a must-watch video for this week, as Coco Jones is the latest to have a seat at NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concerts. Running through selections from her debut album, Why Not More?, her vocals shine against the mostly acoustic band. And as if hearing tracks like “You” and “Taste” at the Tiny Desk wasn’t enough ear candy, her closing rendition of “ICU” is especially shiver-worthy. Seriously, her voice is as smooth as smooth can be.
Also, let this serve as a reminder to support our local NPR station so that we can keep having nice things like this. Seriously!
Okay, this track was released last year, but Kehlani’s “Folded” still has me in the chokiest of chokeholds. (Is “chokiest” even a word?) Anyway, clearly this song is a hit, and her COLORS performance of the track is extra lush. She has definitely studied from Brandy’s “School of Vocal Stacking, and, considering the fact that B-Rocka hopped on a remix, it’s safe to say Kehlani may be her star pupil.
To be honest, I’d be shocked if the track DOESN’T win a Grammy next month. Just saying.
