Smart Glasses Banned from Here!
If you’re planning a cruise and thinking about bringing along those smart glasses, heads up. MSC Cruises has decided to ban smart glasses, like Meta Ray-Bans and similar devices, from all public areas on their ships. That includes places like restaurants, pools, lounges, and theaters. The issue isn’t the look; it’s the fact that these glasses can quietly record photos or video, and MSC says they want guests to feel comfortable without worrying about being recorded without their knowledge.
You can still bring the glasses onboard, but they’re only allowed in private spaces like your cabin or when you’re off the ship. If you wear them in public areas, crew members can ask you to take them off or even confiscate them. Regular phones and cameras are still fine since they’re obvious when someone’s using them. Basically, MSC is drawing a line around privacy, and for now, smart glasses just don’t make the cut.
