We have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that Bel-Air, the show that “nobody asked for,” is returning for a fourth season. The bad news is that it’s the final season.
Peacock announced today that Bel-Air is returning, so we won’t be left hanging due to last season’s cliffhanger ending. Along with the announcement via a press release, the cast of the dramatic reimagining of Will Smith’s iconic 90s comedy sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, came together for a social media post to bring fans the good news of the show’s renewal.

For those who still haven’t seen an episode, for whatever reason, Bel-Air was born from a viral 4-minute short film from the mind of Morgan Cooper, who turned Will Smith’s comedic journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the posh residential neighborhood of Bel-Air to live with his well-off aunt, uncle and their children.

Will Smith saw the trailer and teamed up with Peacock to turn it into the series, which Cooper is now executive producing.
Bel-Air Introduced Jabari Banks To The World
Bel-Air also served as the launching pad for Jabari Banks, a young West Philly native who was given the golden opportunity to play Will in the series.
The cast of the Peacock series includes Adrian Holmes (Phillip Banks, aka Uncle Phil), Cassandra Freeman (Vivian Banks, aka Aunt Viv), Olly Sholotan (Carlton Banks), R&B sensation Coco Jones (Hilary Banks), Akira Akbar (Ashley Banks), Jimmy Akingbola (Geoffrey).
Throughout the three seasons, the show also saw original cast members from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, like Tatyana Ali, Joseph Marcell, Vernee Watson-Johnson, and Daphne Maxwell Reid, make guest appearances.
Other notable appearances include Bianca Belair, Bill Bellamy, Justin Cornwell, Andra Day, Melissa De Sousa, Nicholas Duvernay, Dulé Hill, Anna Maria Horsford, April Parker Jones, Melanie Liburd, Jazlyn Martin, Vic Mensa, DK Metcalf, Saweetie, Alycia Pascual-Peña, David Ramsey, Karrueche Tran, Joivan Wade and Marlon Wayans.
So you can bet season four will have even bigger surprises.
But while the renewal is great news, fans will also be sad to learn that this will be the last run for this version of The Fresh Prince.
“I was wrong about Bel-Air. This show is worthy of more than just four seasons,” one user one X, formerly Twitter wrote.
Another user on X wrote, “Black shows seemingly never get the opportunity to have a long run. Good God. And you can’t tell me that Bel-Air isn’t getting numbers because I’m sure it’s performing well.”
Damn.
